Course Description

The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR, strengthens laws on data protection for residents of the EU. GDPR gives EU residents more control over their personal information. This course introduces employees to GDPR, and prepares them to identify when, how, and where GDPR affects consumers and companies. Scenarios throughout the course prepare employees to identify non-compliance with the GDPR.

Course Syallabus

This module provides a brief introduction to the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation to prepare the learner for subsequent modules.

This module describes the role the GDPR plays in protecting individual data. Through a description of when and where the GDPR applies, the learner understands the responsibilities they have to uphold it. This module also describes the protocols to follow when a data breach occurs and how to navigate the aftermath. The learner applies these lessons through several interactive scenarios.
