Course Description

Clery Act Basics provides faculty, staff, and other university employees with an overview of Clery Act reporting requirements.

Course Syllabus

The introduction welcomes learners into the course. Learners will be introduced to the details of the Clery Act, explore a case study, and be able to identify Clery Act geography. They will also discover what reported crimes are covered under Clery Act geography.

In this module, learners will be able to identify campus security authority (CSAs) or local law enforcement on campus. Learners will understand how, what, and when to report a crime on campus, will participate in multiple scenarios, and read a crime report case study.

Learners will explore what additional safety policies, procedures, and education programs schools must have in place. Learners will also explore a case study in which a college student becomes missing and the correct procedure for reporting this event. Learners will then take a compliance quiz to assess what they have learned.
