Course Description

This course explains the essentials of federal and certain state Hazard Communication (HazCom) standards . Find out what employees need to know about container labels, safety data sheets, HazCom symbols, and what to do if they are exposed to hazardous chemicals. Using real cases and challenging interactions, this course conveys why HazCom is important and how it can protect workers.

This course was most recently reviewed and updated in 2021 by legal and subject matter experts. Updates to OSHA regulations will be tracked and incorporated. The content of this course is built to help companies comply with U.S. federal and state standards, and is an important element of fulfilling hazard communication training mandates under federal and California laws.

This module discusses in-depth the precautions, documentation, and safety procedures the learner needs to be aware of in order to safely adhere to legal requirements regarding hazard communications and workplace safety.

The learner explores the meanings of a variety of commonly-used pictograms and learns how to effectively use safety data sheets. They then apply these lessons and more through multiple interactive scenarios to check their knowledge before progressing into the next module.

This module concludes the course. It reviews in brief the topics covered throughout the course and encourages the learner to read company policy before concluding.
